Book Building: No Sew Binding Structures
with Julia Jai Miller
Explore the wonderful world of artist books by learning the skills of building books. Books can be great places to collect and share your artwork, or they can be works of art on their own. We will create a variety of soft cover and hard cover books out of paper and learn about the materials and tools commonly used. Students usually guide our decisions on which types of books to create after the first class.
This class is designed for those with no or limited experience in book arts. Along the way, we will become familiar with the vocabulary and tools of bookbinding and how to use them.
Materials not provided. Bring what you have of these items, we may or may not use everything here. The instructor will have extra supplies to lend to students during class time.
