Craft a Story: A Creative Writing and Illustrative Journey with Maggie Rush
with Brianna Stevens
Ever imagined writing a book for a child, or a poem with illustrations for a sister, aunt or friend? Well, here's your chance – Maggie Miller, ED of the Drawing Studio along with illustrator Brianna Stevens (whose work was recently seen in the Food Journey posters at Juneteenth) will walk you through both language and imagery for the production of your book in time for the holidays. Whether a simple one-word, one-page First Reader for a new born, or a beautiful crafted soliloquy for a loved one, this class will use community feedback and an easy atmosphere for a fun and creative outcome.
Materials provided by The Drawing Studio; however, a sketch book, journal, and a couple of well-loved children's books with illustrations are encouraged.
