Friday Print Lab (10/16)
with Tom Lindell
Friday Print Lab is where our intergenerational printmakers, with an established practice, meet with others, share work, tips, and life's journeys! Enjoy access to 3 manual roll-top etching/relief presses for your self-directed projects! This studio session is not a regular instructional class, so we recommend beginners start with one of our various printmaking classes.
Membership with The Drawing Studio is required for Print Lab participation. Membership dues allow us to keep cost low.
Folks are welcome to bring in anything that they wish, just so long as it goes back home with you! A Studio Monitor is available to answer questions and orient you on materials. Some materials are available at cost, so bring cash for additional supplies.

Sculpting the Torso in Clay
with Steve Gevurtz
In this class, you will work with clay, your hands, and your eyes - the three oldest tools a sculptor has. You will make mistakes, revise, discover. The torso will humble you and then reward you.
What you build here is not just a sculpture. It is the foundation upon which every figure, every form, every artistic instinct you develop will stand.
Tuition fee includes clay, use of some TDS tools, and a model fee.
DIY Hand-Printed & Dyed Scarves
with Melissa Gill
Create a unique, hand-dyed and printed scarf as a bespoke gift for a loved one! In this fun, experimental workshop, we’ll explore how to manipulate the fabric in the dye process to create beautiful organic and geometric patterns with natural dye. We’ll make personalized designs into stamps to add imagery to the scarf as a border, on the short ends, or as an all-over repeat-pattern with textile ink. This will be a fun way to create a personalized gift for the holidays.
