Try It! Capturing the Essence: Lyrical Lines of Blind Contour

$55 MEMBER PRICE: $4950

with Tracy Dunbar

Calendar Oct 5, 2026 at 1 pm

Draw exciting images with less rigidity by utilizing contour drawing! Contour drawing can mean looking only at the subject, and without lifting the pen, or looking at the paper, outlining the shapes of the composition. In this introduction class, we will learn about both blind and observational continuous contour. At any skill level, hone your drawing and enhance your observation, as we create images with extraordinary energy and fluidity.

Understanding concepts like the color wheel, contrasts, complementary colors, temperature and lightness and darkness of hue ensures effective design. Students will work from life as well as their imagination to sharpen their skills mixing, matching, and telling a story with their use of color.
